I have to say I quite preferred this week's edition of the Dean and Cas show, and the Dean and Dean show wasn't bad either.

Yes, Ellen and Jo's return certainly suggested possibilities there for another way to do this. If they had spun out the separation farther I would have found it interesting to see their characterizations as each tried to work their cases differently.
