I have to say I quite preferred this week's edition of the Dean and Cas show, and the Dean and Dean show wasn't bad either.

I agree. Honestly, part of me was hoping it would turn into the Dean & Jo show when they split up, but this is pretty good too. :D

Yes, Ellen and Jo's return certainly suggested possibilities there for another way to do this. If they had spun out the separation farther I would have found it interesting to see their characterizations as each tried to work their cases differently.
