So good! So much to process! Many feelings!

Did anyone else half expect it to end with Where Is My Mind playing as they watch the city burn from the high-rise window?

I AM NOT OKAY D: I can't believe that's the holiday episode they leave us on for 5 weeks with just a lil glimpse of Dean BARTENDING INSIDE HIS OWN HEAD wAHT

...and they went for all the Die Hard references but did not give Dean the opportunity to say "Yippee-ki-yay mother-" and then abruptly cut to a different shot. I was robbed. Dean was robbed.

HE CAN'T EVEN ENJOY THAT OVER CHRISTMAS.

They finally hit the alcohol-grade feels emergency.

I mean, it was crystal clear that - starting from the moment Michael remembered Garth - every last event that transpired on screen is something Michael planned, wanted, or allowed to happen. (Hell, I'm not 100% certain Ketch didn't sell them out too; he generally works for the highest bidder and "I won't obliterate you where you stand" is a pretty high bid.) And yet I kept holding on to hope that they'd find some hole in the plan. And they didn't.

(Kind of like the S9 finale? Even without Jensen's crack about "it'll be an eye-opener" I had concluded about 5 minutes after he got the Mark of Cain that Dean was going to be a Knight of Hell by the end of the season... knowing it was coming didn't make it any better.)

Meanwhile the whole episode my brain was screaming at me about how Kansas City was where Dean went to End!Verse... and about how a whole city of hundreds of thousands of people being attacked by/transformed into monsters is going to be the kind of thing the population won't be able to gloss over? if there are news reports about Kansas City being "zoned infected" in the upcoming episode I'm going to expire on the spot.

as I watch (and rewatch, and rewatch, because it's awesome even knowing what's coming) the scene in which Ode to Joy begins to play, I realize the circumstances are even not entirely unlike End!Dean going to confront Lucifer. Through time and effort, they've got the one thing in the universe that they think can harm him... so now it's time for the suicide mission into the archangel's headquarters.

When all is said and done... one brother is being worn by an archangel, the weapon is useless, Kansas City will soon be a monster-infested wasteland, and Sam has no reason to believe Michael will let any of them walk out of there alive.

And of course the whole thing was a set up by the angels to teach Dean a lesson to break his will to make him more possess-able by Michael

Am I the only one who spent the entire time Michael was beating Castiel screaming "stab him in the back" at the screen? They knew they'd lost the element of surprise, so why not use the distraction instead of grandstanding? I get that Show needed to repossess Dean for plot reasons, but did they have to do it in a way that made the characters look like idiots?

Also, how adorable was Jack's little face when he talked about teaching himself to pick locks?

Proud Jack is such a cutie! I hope he knows everyone is proud of him no matter how useful he is at breaking and entering.

Besides my complete lack of interest in the Nick storyline and the clunkiness of BL, I'm really, really enjoying s14 so far!

The last couple episodes in particular have really hit with the feels, some nice nods to past canon, and some great character beats.

There's lot to tease out and squee about last night's episode, but my biggest take-away:

When was the Garth-Bobby buddy adventures?! Because clearly Garth hung around Bobby more than a few times, clearly he idolized Bobby to the point where after Bobby died, Garth felt the need to 'be the new Bobby'… why have we never gotten details on their grand adventures together??

Even BL have been... well above average this season? the characters have hit some genuine emotional notes here and there? most of the dialogue has sounded like things actual humans would say to each other? a minimum of skeezy sex? but, ugh, Nick, yeah.
