I still get the occasional email for when an author posts something, but short of a single author i know, who's writing for some anime i've never heard of (and is also quite young), i don't know anyone who still posts there.
but that might also be because i'm on the tumblr side of fandom, not twitter or reddit. Or i was, until tumblr instituted the porn ban. so now i'm pretty much homeless online (except for discord)
